I wonder how you feel about people making ill-advised comments about all women or people of your ethnicity. How do you feel about people saying women should be in the kitchen? Your blanket comment is just as ignorant. Jesse Jackson is a clown that is stuck in the civil rights issues of the 60's. Most black men and everyone else want to move forward and fix this broken polarizing system. People like Sharpton, Jesse, Imus and that one right-wing radio nut job make it difficult for that to happen. And people like CC keep the stereotypes going with silly bickering blanket statement remarks that do no good. I am Black, educated without a single child, a homeowner, a taxpayer, have a great well-paying job and never had a single run-in with police or anyone else. And all of my friends are the same way. What do you have to say about that C.C.??? No, Jesse Jackson is not telling the truth about Obama. Jesse Jackson has used the legacy of the Civil Rights movement to make himself wealthy, and he seems to be jealous of Obama's wide crossover appeal. Obama told the truth about Black men. They do abandon their children at an alarming rate (Jackson and Obama were both raised by single mothers), they usually do not live in the same household as their children,and even if they do provide some (usually very little) financial and or emotional support, and they seem to think the whole world should change so that their lives can be made easier. I'm sorry, but for every Black man who is doing the right thing, (working, not having babies with EVERYBODY, being morally responsible, etc...) you have 100 doing everything kinda or completely wrong. I am African-American and this opinion was formed over the course of my lifetime, based on what I have seen in my own community. Black men enjoy seeing women suffer, they need help to do everything, and they are not reliable. And if you do not believe me, get to know some. You will see for yourself. Black people (Black women in particular) have allowed Black men to behave like cowards since slavery. They let master provide food and shelter for their families and they never learned (and I'm speaking collectively, so please don't cite the one or two Black men you know of who take care of their families) to see the value in a man taking care of his own family. Obama was right to pubilcly scold Black men for being neglectful. And since his dad ran out on his mother early in his life, he knows exactly what he is talking about.
